Tampa Bay Next is more than just interstates. It’s a collaborative process and a comprehensive approach to addressing safety, traffic operations, and congestion problems in our region.
FDOT District Seven is working across departments to ensure technical excellence, integrate multimodal opportunities, and improve safety and mobility across our region. This collaboration does not end at the doorstep of District Seven. We’re proactively engaging the community and agency partners for a truly comprehensive approach to our transportation system.
Since Tampa Bay Next launched last May, we have been out in neighborhoods and at community events, listening to residents and collaborating with stakeholders. Based on input from the community, we are analyzing alternative options for highway improvement, such as multiple options for the Downtown Interchange. We have also advanced several key studies in response to community feedback. Among them are the Heights Mobility Plan and Fowler Multimodal Study, and we’ve funded additional transit studies, including $5 million in project development funds for the Regional Transit Feasbility Plan and $2.5 million for HART’s MetroRapid Study, which will look at street-level Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on the Florida/Tampa/Nebraska corridors.
Tampa Bay Next wants YOUR ideas and feedback. Internal and external collaboration is the key to developing the best transportation solutions for our region. Be part of the solution by reaching out to us at 813-975-NEXT or email@example.com.
